Family Night Out Before LU
Soon, Kristin was leaving for Liberty University. We wanted to do
something special. So we spent an evening at the Melting Pot. We
had never been there and we had a great time. Afterwards, we went to the
Warwick River for pictures. It was a great evening to celebrate our family
before life changes for all of us.

Graduation
A big event occurred in our family in May 2008. Kristin, our firstborn,
graduated from Denbigh Baptist Christian School. We were able to
celebrate with family and friends and the night couldn't have been more
special. Besides her diploma, Kristin was chosen by the teachers and staff
as Miss Denbigh. What an honor! We were so proud. It was special
night and we will never forget the memories made!

Trip to Amish Country
Our family wanted to go somewhere this summer though our time was short. So we
combined a trip to Ohio to see our niece graduate with a 2 day stop in
Lancaster County, Pa., to beautiful Amish Country. It was a great decision! We
had always wanted to see a show at the Sight and Sound Theater. We were able
to see In The Beginning and we were so blessed! We also ate at an Amish
Restaurant, Good N Plenty, took an Amish buggy ride, saw some covered bridged
and took a tape tou r
of some of the farm country. We enjoyed it so much! One of our favorite things
seems so small but it was a great memory. We stopped at am Amish farmhouse and
went to their family stand. We bought homemade cold root beer in glass jars,
homemade potato chips and whoopie pies to go with out sandwiches. We then went
to an old mill near the stream and found a picnic table. The food was SO good
and we had never done anything like that before. It was so peaceful there. We
had a wonderful time and we will never forget that time together.

Junior Senior 2007
This was Kristin’s junior year so her class was in charge of the junior senior
banquet. Her particular job was heading up the Program Committee. The evening
went off without a hitch. She and Eman went together and they had a wondeful
time. Enjoy some pictures of the evening.

Richmond Speedway
If you know Korie, you know here favorite thing is NASCAR and Jeff Gordon! A
special nurse we met in Richmond, she gave us tickets to the Busch Race.
Though Jeff doesn’t race in that, he did have practice time and then there was
Qualifying. So we did get to see him drive. He had on a white Virginia Tech
hat so he was easy to spot. Korie was in her element when he won qualifying.
It was a great day!

New York City Spring 07
For Christmas, Donna’s gift from Steve was a trip to NYC together! It was the
best gift ever. We stayed in Long Island with a former student/player of
Steve’s, Leslie Maxey. It was great visiting with her. We rode the Long Island
Train into the city each day. Not only did we see the great sites, but we ate
in a neat place in Little Italy and found some famous restaurants that we got
to eat in. We got to see the statue, Times Square, manage the subway,
Chinatown and our favorite, the Brooklyn Tabernacle. It was a great gift.

Victory Junction - Family Weekend
In March, 2007, the family headed to Spina
Bifida Family Weekend at Victory Junction. It was one of the most special
weeks we have every experienced. Not only was the trip wonderful because for
the first time, Kristin could join us, but the relationships we made and the
special times we shared with the other families attending was just
unforgettable. We will never forget that weekend. We wish you all could see
the difference in Korie when she gets out of the van at VJ. She becomes a more
independent person and is full of fun and adventure and looks forward to every
moment ahead of her. It makes our trip just to step back and watch her feel
like she can excel and everything she does
and
to have so much available to her. The camp had a new putt putt course, a maze
that changes each day and a new zip line that Korie and Kristin each rode down
at the same time. It was great to see
the girls be able to participate in something like that as equals and each
having a great time. We are so thankful for this place. The only place better
for us to share time together, will be in heaven! We are forever grateful to
the Petty’s for allowing their tragedy to become something that makes a
difference in other’s lives forever.

Victory
Junction
In April, Steve, Donna and Korie headed to Randleman, North Carolina for Spina
Bifida Family Weekend. This was our second visit and Korie had the best
time. She played basketball, rode horses, caught seven fish and decided
to return in July for a week of camp...all by herself!
